I'm new here...where can i help with articles on Slovakia...or else?--Hyro84 13:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Please try Wikipedia:WikiProject Eastern Europe Perhaps there you could find other users, interested in Slovakia. There still seems to be no WikiProject Slovakia, but they are interested to create new sub projeccts.
You do not have to be the member of a project. One of the rules of Wikipedia is "be bold". If you want to participate, be free to create an article about a topic of your interrest or improve an existing article.
Welcome to Wikipedia. --Thw1309 14:07, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I have noticed you have uploaded some images with GFDL or other free license. That's fine and we welcome it, but you may consider setting up an account at Commons to upload images there, to enable other people from other projects use them. MarkBA t/c/@ 15:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for advice. How can I delete mistakely uploaded image please. And...I created my first page The Starina reservoir...is it ok? :)--Hyro84 15:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think there are two ways: either blank them (deleting) - as you're creator and major contributor, administrators will understand it as undisputed request of deletion or upload these into Commons, replace images in the article with the ones from Commons and you can tag these for speedy deletion (see WP:CSD for more advice). For the article, it is fairly good, but I had to move it from original title because "the" shouldn't be usually used in the article titles (see WP:NC for more detail on this) and some other like categorization and stubbing. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. Please, use it because it is lot easier to check one bigger edit that five small edits in a row. MarkBA t/c/@ 18:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Theoretically, it would be possible, as there is a requirement of five users interested in WikiProject (at least I think so), and the regulars are, if I can say so I, User:Svetovid, User:Tankred, User:MikeGogulski and you plus few irregular users which can be found at Category:Slovak Republic Wikipedians (more can be found at WP:WIKIPROJECT for info about Wikiprojects). However, we would need them to persuade other so there will be at least five of us who are participating, plus maintaining and updating whole pages. My own stance to the community projects is rather neutral, though I wouldn't hesitate joining one which suits my interests. MarkBA t/c/@ 21:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- This means there is five of us with me...however it would take some time for me to become regular contributor...Maybe existence of wikiproject Slovakia will attract more Slovak users to contribute. What about trying a proposal?Hyro84 21:38, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

- You may try if you want, but you never know if these which I've mentioned will jump straightaway or you will have to persuade them. However, Tankred has said we could create our own Regional Board to discuss issues on one centralized place, instead on different talk pages, though I'm not experienced with creating and managing WikiProjects or regional boards. MarkBA t/c/@ 22:11, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Idea with Regional Board sounds good to me. I didn't know about them. We can start there, and later, when more users will come, we can start WikiProject :) To learn how to create and manage wikiproject or regional board is just a matter of time for all of us...however, upcoming two weeks are short of time for me (final exams)...Hyro84 22:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Slovak Wikipedians' notice board
Hi. You might be interested in checking out the brand new Wikipedia:Slovak Wikipedians' notice board. All Wikipedians interested in Slovakia or subjects somehow related to Slovakia are invited to use this noticeboard as a tool for better organizing their activities, making announcements to others with similar interests, and discussing any actual issues related to their work on Wikipedia. You are welcome to add this notice board to your watchlist, so that you could see when it is updated and thus take part in any projects, initiatives, and improvements relating to articles about Slovakia. Also, you are welcome to report your own articles here so they could be peer-reviewed and expanded by other contributors. Tankred 16:01, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
