[edit] genera in taxobox
I changed Anaspida in the taxobox back to Jamoytius, Endeiolepis, and Euphanerops. It's true that these genera have been classified as anaspids, but some workers think they belong to the stem group of lampreys rather than with anaspids like Birkenia, because they lack a mineralized skeleton and may have an annular cartilage around the mouth [1]. [edit] subclass?
Isn't Hyperoartia a subclass within paraphyletic class Agnatha? 61x62x61 (talk) 08:52, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Lampreys are agnathans, but as a formal taxon Agnatha appears more rarely in the literature these days, partly because of its paraphyly. Even classifications that include Agnatha differ in assigning it the rank of class, or a higher rank like superclass. Cephal-odd (talk) 04:40, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
