someone should put a "plot" thingy —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.132.55.162 (talk) 18:22, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Third Season

The commentary on the Hyperdrive DVDs has the makers of the series stating that there will be a series three, in contradiction to the statement on here that the makers have claimed that there are no plans for series three. I can't find any corroborating evidence to confirm that there won't be a series three, so I suggest that paragraph be removed. --Alden Bates (talk) 23:18, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Main image

I downloaded the mobile wallpaper, which turned out to be a bit small. Should we use this one instead? It's wallpaper also, therefore suitable for {{promotional}}, but rather larger and not so prone to jaggies. HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 12:16, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

That one looks better. Perhaps the darkened caption banner should be cropped out, though.  Run!  16:08, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Didn't see this discussion before I updated the article, but I've added the suggested image myself. I left the bbc link on because that's the way the image was authorised for use - to remove it may disqualify it for such use. - Hayter 15:15, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Second Season

I don't believe there should be a line that states a second series has been commissioned when it's neither been confirmed onscreen (They often end seasons with, "and it will be back in the autumn" or something similar) or on the official website. From what I've heard, Frost will be busy with other commitments over the coming year as well. I'm not saying a second season won't be made, but I've seen nothing to indicate one will other than the line on the article, and without a source, I don't see a valid reason for including the line, with {{fact}} or otherwise. - Hayter 18:38, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

The {{fact}} template is there for a reason - it implies that the statement should not be trusted and it encourages the casual wikipedian to go out and attempt to find a reference to back up the fact. You may have checked the official website, which is fair enough, but did you try googling "hyperdrive second series"? That gets results. If it didn't, then you might have been in a better position to remove the claim.
Anyway, someone linked me to a press release page and it reminded me of this, so I've re-added it with a reference.  Run!  15:55, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Statements which should not be trusted have no business being in an article. If there is a good source to back it up then of course it should be included, but if one is lacking, then there's no justification for its inclusion. It's no more valid than speculation. - Hayter 19:43, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Quoting Wikipedia:Citing sources:

In this case, the edit was harmless. I'm only going with wikipedia policy.  -- Run!  20:31, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

The first sentence contradicts the statement, that a second season will be produced... --Dami 21:50, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Theme tune

I've been going mad since catching the end of the episode last night (the first time I'd seen any of it) and I cannot think what the theme tune is - I know I know the tune, but can't put a name to it! Thryduulf 21:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

It's the Colonel Bogey March -- it even has its own Wikipedia article! --RFBailey 01:18, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks! Thryduulf 10:00, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Better than Red Dwarf Series VIII

I think it'd be worthwhile adding to this article that Hyperdrive is approximately 62% better than Red Dwarf Series VIII. After a while of owning the latter on DVD I realised this morning that it's the only purchase I've ever made in this format that I wish was on VHS instead! If it was on VHS at least I'd be able to tape over it!!

Whether it's better or worse than Red Dwarf is your own opinion, and opinion's do not belong in an encyclopedia. King Wagga 16:44, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
