Talk:Hyperboloid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I wish there was more talk about the traces and transformations that go along with different equations of hyperboloids.

[edit] Transverse Axis

From the article

A hyperboloid of revolution of one sheet can be obtained by revolving a hyperbola around its transverse axis.

when searching for def of transverse axis the first three definitions give

The line segment that contains the center and whose endpoints are the two vertices of a hyperbola..

Now if we rotate around this axis we get the two sheet hyperboloid. Something seems awry. --Salix alba (talk) 15:08, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
