Hypogeophis rostratus is a species of amphibian in the Caeciliidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Hypogeophis. It is endemic to Seychelles. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montanes, rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, plantations , rural gardens, and heavily degraded former forest.
