A hypoeutectic alloy is a binary alloy in which the composition is to the left hand side of the eutectic point on the equilibrium diagram of a binary eutectic system. At any position where the hypoeutectic alloy exists the solute concentration at that position must be less than the solute concentration at the eutectic point.
