Hyde Park Baptist High School is a privately funded Christian High School located in Austin, Texas.

Hyde Park was founded in 1968 on the principals of the Baptist denomination of Christianity. The main ideals of Hyde Park Baptist High School is secondary education environment that prepares its students to enter college with a special emphasis given to Christian values. Currently Hyde Park Baptist School system has two campuses located in Austin, Texas. The primary campus houses an elementary, junior high, and high school. While the second campus, Bannockburn, contains just an elementary school. At this time Hyde Park Baptist school systems has a total enrollment of more than 765 students between the two campuses.

HPBS Mission Statement:

The mission of HPBS is to provide a Christ-centered foundation of biblical truth integrated in strong college-preparatory academics and well-rounded extracurricular program

Admissions:

Admission to Hyde Park is selective. Admission is based on the candidate’s past record of achievement, test scores, teacher recommendations, student/parent interviews and admissions testing, and it is required that a student have a strong behavioral history and exhibit excellent moral character.


The 2007-2008 tuition for Hyde Park Baptist Schools is as follows:
Kindergarten: $6,250
1st - 6th Grades: $6,850
7th - 8th Grades: $8,250
9th - 12th Grades: $9,100

New student registration fees are: $250.00 for Kindergarten $400.00 for Grades 1-12.

Usage Fee for Grades K-12: $495.00 which covers textbook usage, consumable workbooks and computer technology fees.

[edit] Science Olympiad

In May of 2007 the Hyde Park Science Olympiad Team, lead by Coach Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, went to the Science Olympiad National Tournament held in Wichita Kansas on the campus of Wichita State University. The team was the first private school from Texas to make it to the national tournament after a 2nd place finish at their state tournament held on the campus of Texas A&M University. On its first trip two partners earned a 2nd place medal in food science and 36th overal finish.
