Hy Bender

Hy Bender is an author who has written or cowritten 14 books. Bender also writes reviews of New York theatre productions and comedy shows, primarily for his website, and occasionally for other publications such as The New York Times. Bender has written humor articles for such national magazines as Mad Magazine, Spy, American Film, and Advertising Age.

Bender is currently focused on screenwriting, and runs the respected Manhattan movie writing workshop NYScreenwriters.org. Bender runs a script analysis service to help writers identify and repair problems with their screenplays and teleplays, and runs a book proposal service that helps authors sell their concepts to book publishers.

The Sandman Companion, New York: Vertigo-DC Comics, 1999. This Vertigo publication features in-depth interviews with Neil Gaiman, the creator of the Sandman comics , as well as numerous interviews and anecdotes from the various artists who contributed throughout the series. The book details all of the issues, and groups them into their ten different storylines, offering a quick summary, and then a Q & A between Bender and Gaiman for the issues, and related topics.
