[edit] Background
The pivotal tragedy of 9/11 deserves a page of its own on my user area.
I was deeply disturbed, on more of a subconscious level, by the shocking acts of terrorism and it inspired me to record my thoughts shortly after coming home and seeing my parents weeping at the TV news playback of the tower collapses. I was writing a fiction book akin to the Pokémon adventure stories and several chapters were inspired by 9/11 and the war on terror. For some reason around ca. 2003 or 2004, I was gullible enough to believe 9/11 conspiracy theories which were promoted by deceptive, unscholarly "researchers," many of whom call themselves patriots but are demonstrably not. I deeply regret promoting these theories on my own blog, but I eventually started to think more critically and tried to separate theories into "myth," "probable myth," "truth," etc. Some time later I was sick of 9/11 conspiracism and was fortunate enough to stumble across websites that exposed the lies. I am now working on debating 9/11 conspiracists on Wikipedia and refuting conspiracy theories on some of my blogs. I apologize to God and the world for promoting false theories for some 20 months or so, and I am atoning for those sins by debunking these lies, together with other bloggers, researchers, etc.
With U.S. government involvement in orchestrating and planning 9/11 debunked, we are left to evaluate the other possibilities about why it happened. I believe 9/11 was preventable and that it wasn't thwarted because of incompetence, bad luck, and intelligence failures. {Under construction} -- WRH
