Huyuan Zan

Huyuan Zan (呼延赞) or Huyan Zan, was a famous warrior during the Northern Song Dynasty. Zan was born in Taiyuan, Bingzhou (now part of Shanxi) in an unknown year and died in the third year of Xianping in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1000). He was best known for being a brave warrior who served the Song Dynasty by leading the troops to resist the invasion of the Khitan people and was considered to be a hero by the Han people.
