[edit] Article Name

Should the title of this article not be "Huxley (MMOFPS)" or "Huxley (Computer Game)"? --Hardgoodbye 01:23, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Computer game wouldn't work as there is an X-Box 360 version coming out as well. MMOFPS is a lesser known term so that would not work either. I think "Huxley (video game)" is our best option. Greeves (talk contribs) 15:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I would suggest "MMOFPS video game." MMOFPS isn't as cryptic a designation as it was a few years ago - with games like World of Warcraft so popular, people are familiar with the MMO- abbreviation. The "MMOFPS" part is an important designation to apply to this game, since that is what sets it apart from every other FPS out there and is the main thrust of the game.--CBrewster 14:51, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

-We need to stop having the page change everyday, if someone puts something that has good information on it. Keep It! -Who ever recently changed the Huxley release date back to 2007, has false hope. The webzengames.com page is outdated, all recent data points to a Q1-Q2 2008 release date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 19:04, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

It may be incorrect info, but it's verifiable. It bears mentioning because it is the official developers site. I wouldn't call it wishfull thinking but following WP:NOR BURNyA 19:21, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Thats dumb though, we know its not coming 2007. We know that page isnt updated, and we even have there finical report that says that it will be coming Q1-Q2 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 19:00, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

The financial report is mentioned in the article. If Huxley is that worried about it, let Webzen know that there is a typo and then we can remove the "within 2007" from the article. It would seem that a company that is trying to release a breakthrough game would have an up to date website, so perhaps they are considering the Beta a 'Korea pre-release' or something stupid. Don't know, and it doesn't make a lot of sense. I'll try to email them today. BURNyA 19:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Huxley Wikipedia page, cleaned up. Please keep it this way! ~4/7/08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.225.15 (talk) 01:26, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Brave New World

Where is it documented that this game is based on A Brave New World?

It's been discussed by the developers "Also, Aldous Huxley's 1932 novel Brave New World served as the inspiration for the game's name, gave us ideas in planning a world concerning the game's overall social and class structure." http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/704/704750p1.html Croryf 08:29, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

"Inspired by", not "based on". The actual game seems to have no relation to Huxley's novel. A resemblance between the "overall social and class structure" of the two games is a very weak argument for a similarity. The class structure of Huxley's novel wasn't particularly original or unique. For example, Gattaca's page doesn't discuss Brave New World anywhere. We may as well say that the Huxley video game is based on The Communist Manifesto. --Heyitspeter 04:03, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] External links section

The external links section in this article is massive! We need to get rid of some of those fan sites; one or two fan sites at the most! Greeves (talk contribs) 15:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. Feel free to get started. Modul8r 16:07, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I've been taking all of the fansite links down. There's two sites whose members tend to use wikipedia to pester each other via vandalism, and it's become a pain. If noone objects, I'm going to continue to just leave the official links unless a fansite gives important verifiable info that can't be found elsewhere, or at least has substance beyond "this will be our clan one day, and we're gonna pownerz you". [edit] Pricing

Any news on whether this game will incur a subscription fee like other MMOs? --Rambutaan 05:32, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I have to imagine it will. To support 200 player combat, 5,000 player cities, player housing, etc., the company will have to maintain servers for the game, which will almost certainly demand a subscription fee.--CBrewster 14:54, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] (not) WP:NOT

I dont think this article sounds like an avertisment at all. I'm taking the flag down if noone objects. BURNyA 21:21, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

There's been alot of vandalism on this page from the fan forums. I think that if it continues, this may need to be semi protected until the beta comes out and they have another place to send their attention. BURNyA 19:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Only a couple of hours after I posted this and it's still going on. BURNyA 22:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Huxley SapienFrontOfTank.jpg.jpg

Image:Huxley SapienFrontOfTank.jpg.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Beginning text

The beginning text isn't quite in wikipedia style. Contralya (talk) 22:44, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Redo

This whole article is currently in the tank! It is hardly in wikipedia format and the text is not as encyclopedic it should be. It talks about a TRAILER as if it were something seen in the game. Anyone who has seen video game advertisements and got the game knows that cinematic trailers do NOT represent game-play. 65.27.139.162 (talk) 22:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly free2play

There was an article on www.gamespy.com that speculates this game may be released as a free2play. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/huxley/878392p1.html Flem12 (talk) 23:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MMO? Number of players isn't matching up

Games Radar

Page 3 says the largest PvP map for release will be 20v20 players. That's 40 people. The gameplay section should be changed to reflect this. Not sure where these 60v60 figures are coming from. They probably have no research behind them or are very out of date. Someone should research this if they care. I won't make the change, just passing this along. 141.218.136.207 (talk) 19:07, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
