The result of the proposal was PAGE MOVED per rationale below. As noted below, this article is not about the CDP of Hutchinson Island South, Florida, but about the island itself. -GTBacchus(talk) 03:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Nominator's Rationale: There is no need to have Florida in the title. There is no other island by this name. There have been intervening redirects and an administrator's approval is necessary for this move. clariosophic (talk) 16:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. As a CDP, it should follow the place naming convention. Vegaswikian (talk) 03:04, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

- Comment: Hutchinson Island, Florida is not a C.D.P. It contains one CDP, Hutchinson Island South, Florida, which occupies the southern part part of the St. Lucie County portion of the island, but it is actually in the middle of the island. The northern part of the St. Lucie County portion is part of the city of Fort Pierce, Florida, which is centered on the mainland to the west. The Martin County portion is all unincorporated. clariosophic (talk) 14:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC) clariosophic (talk) 21:16, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Support. I reiterate my nomination rationale and my comments above. Hutchinson Island is NOT a settlement. It is an island which has settlements on it as follows: one CDP (Hutchinson Island South, Florida) in its middle and part of the city of Fort Pierce, Florida on its north end. clariosophic (talk) 11:36, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
