Mr. Lefty's RfA thanks
Hi, Husond, and thanks for supporting me in my recent request for adminship, which succeeded with a final tally of 70/4/4. I hope I can live up to your expectations, and if there's ever anything you need, you know where to find me! --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 00:09, 26 September 2006 (UTC) |
Midian reverts with VP
For some reason, two of your three reverts to Midian left several sections missing. While they did revert previous edits, the most recent (blanking) edit was retained. --Eliyak T·C 15:37, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing and fixing. This probably occurred because the vandal I was reverting made a second edit (removing that content) at the same time I was reverting his first edit (at 23:52). This sometimes causes VP to revert only the first vandalism, while the 2nd one goes unnoticed. Quite a hassle, I'm glad you spotted this. Thank you.--Húsönd 16:11, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

editing acne
I had no intention of vandalising the article. I made an edit and when i tried to upload it got a message saying 'loss of session data' i will make the edit again later. Now I have to work. Lgh 04:37, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Userpage
Good question. The userpage appears to be for a class project (check out the page history). I'd suggest that it is probably not in bad faith...just a misinterpetation of the goals of Wikipedia. That said, the userpage obviously violates userpage guidelines and Wikipedia is not a free webhost and should be deleted. I've added my opinion (using some of this paragraph, actually) to [1]] Regards, alphaChimp(talk) 03:50, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Question
Why did you make this edit? It was a good edit, you didn't provide any reason to revert it. Qutezuce 03:59, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Your suggestion
Hi. I noticed the suggestion you made while closing the bitter move proposal debate on Talk:Păuleşti, Vrancea. Does that mean that one may simply request the creation of a bot that could create a redirect page without diacritics for every article that contains them in the title? That sounds like a very good solution, but is it really that simple? And is there a way to find out if such bot has been created already? Thank you. Regards.--Húsönd 19:32, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well it would be very simple to request a bot to do that at WP:BOTREQ. Finding anyone to actually take on that task might be a different story! :) I've looked into creating my own bots (I'm a software engineer by trade) but never looked closely enough to determine what the rules are. I know you need to get someone to make the bot and then the bot maker needs to get a beureaucrat to approve the bot for a "bot flag". That way, the bot won't flood the recent changes log, etc. Admins are instructed to block unapproved bots on sight. If you've ever seen a Willy on Wheels attack, the moves happen so fast that it is definitely a malicious unapproved bot doing the page moves.
- Anyway, I'd recommend adding an entry at WP:BOTREQ and then maybe contact your favorite bot creator for an opinion. Good luck. —Wknight94 (talk) 20:35, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Husond. Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user page. I really appreciate it! --Alan Au 20:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Alleged copyvio
As I understand it, quoting partial lyrics in the context of analysis is acceptable, according to Wikipedia:Lyrics_and_poetry. At the very least you could've had the decency to leave the original explanatory text I had spent several minutes composing in its place, rather than high-handedly removing the lot. Very disappointing, and a poor exercise of editorship. - 82.152.178.205 17:08, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment. I was actually in doubt after my second reversion, because you did add some explanatory material to the lyrics, and it was indeed not an exact copy of the lyrics. But try to understand that fans of artists often try to insert their lyrics and that's to be promptly reverted for copyvio. Maybe it's not your case and I apologize for the reversions. Also, try to understand that we revert hundreds of edits and sometimes we do commit mistakes. So it's good you contacted me. I will restore your edit if you have not done so yet. Regards. --Húsönd 17:17, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Maybe I should've added them more in prose style with the text, rather than separating them out - I see most of the examples have them in the body text. Anyway, no probs. - 82.152.178.205 17:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Recent Deletions
The two links I added to the Orgasm page were from the sites of noted Sex Researcher and internationally syndicated broadcaster Sue McGarvie. There is a ton of free content on both sites which relates specifically to the content being discussed in the article... certianly more than is available in the some of the sites you already have listed. Just because a site has a commercial side as well, does not mean that it fails to contain informative and educational material. These links were not spam.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.191.28.185 (talk • contribs) .
- Thank you for your query. I once again analysed the links you added to the article Orgasm, but I am sorry to inform that they do not conform to Wikipedia's policies regarding external links (See WP:EL and WP:SPAM for reference). Your links may not be inserted for the following reasons:
- *They are not specific to the subject of the article (Orgasm).
- *They contain a shopping section with recommended products.
- If within the sites you provided exist subpages with ad-free content about orgasm, you are welcome to add links to those specific pages. But the main websites easily qualify as spam, and definitely inadequate for the article Orgasm. Consider checking the article Sexuality as a more suitable choice. Once again, thank you for contacting me. Regards.--Húsönd 02:33, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- PS: When inserting a comment on a user's talk page, please place it in the bottom of the page instead of in the beginning, and please sign your comment by simply typing four tildes "~~~~".

- Hi Dfrg. I was just wondering if you set a deadline for the caption competition. When you can, please provide further instructions about the evaluation procedure. The competetion was a great idea btw. Best regards.--Húsönd 03:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... a deadline. Well, today it is the 4th so, perhaps on the 13th? That should be enough time. Judging can begin then and go for two days. It would be great if lots of people, not just those who frequent the Coffee lounge get to see and enter. Hmmmm....
Already covered: Scores will be given out of Ten (Fifty toatal from Five judges). For:
- Originality (2)
- Humor (6)
- Image choice (2)
The winner; as well as being given a year supply of Coffee and a years supply of lounge will recive the DFRTurnip Tropy®. But then, it's not about the wining or the fabulous Turnip, it's about having a go and having some fun.
Scores could be expressed perhaps in a box:

My usual userpage makes it clear that I am not Brazilian (I know I've temporarily deleted the history that says that.) I just assume that perhaps MTV VJs are almost always notable because there's a list for them, but I have no idea what this guy's done or how long he's been around. AfD sounds good... "Reporting canvass"
What do you exactly mean by "reporting canvass" in reference to the Armenian rebellions article? I wasn't trying to alert User:Eupator to help nominate it for deletion. Celebrity Deathmatch
Thanks but there's already an article with the list of celebrity deathmatch episodes so I think the list should be removed from the Celebrity Deathmatch section because it doesn't make sense to have it there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.7.70.244 (talk • contribs) .
- Thank you for contacting me. Before continuing to your issue, I must inform that when placing comments on users' talk pages you are expected to insert them in the bottom (not in the beginning) and sign them by simply typing four tildes (~~~~).
- Now, after checking both articles I see that you do have a point, there's a list redundancy. I'll deal with it right away. But in the future always give a detailed explanation of your edit in the edit summary, for removal of content by unregistered users is often deemed as vandalism. Anyway I see that you acted in good faith so I removed the warning that I had placed and will deal with the lists now. Regards.--Húsönd 23:39, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Trigger finger or robot?
You seem to have created some overeager robot that reverts any edits to your pet articles. My edits to Janusz Głowacki were very innocent, as well as an improvement, changing "Głowacki" to "Glowacki" in the categories. You may not have realized yet that any letters with diacritics are alphabetized after the letter z, so that Mr. Głowacki will show up after, say, Miss Gzyw in those categories. If this was really the work of a robot, I'd find these very unwikipedia-like. It may even be "verboten".Afasmit 01:42, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi you Icelandic man. I saw you reverted the post by 24.252.155.97 on "Tucows". It was obviously not a statement one would want in a encyclopedia, but it has it's relevance. About Brooks
Sorry about the vandalism, but I go to that school and it is full of jerks. I was frustrated with the amount of wiggers, preps and emos in the student body, the lack of adminstartors who actually care about the students educations and the lack of workers who actually perform their jobs properly and do what they say. The staff and Brooks lies and ignores students and parents a ridiculous amount, they tell out right lies to get out of work, for example, a friend of mine was away for a day, she missed a test, the teacher said she could make up the test but it would have to be a different test. The teacher in question promised to make up a new test. The student told her that would be great. The teacher then promply replied, + Sorry about the vandalism, but I go to that school and it is full of jerks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.67.6.142 (talk • contribs) . - "Or I could not do it." Then simply disregarded the whole idea, leaving my friend testless and bringing down her mark. It's unbelievable the level of lies and out right neglect the staff will resort to to avoid work. Absent students are told to plan their absences to get work or have pick up dates to aquire it. The office staff will simply neglect to email teachers about work or help them to pick it up when they arrive for it. They make no effort to find it if THEY lose it. It's ridiculous. That school is pitiful.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.67.6.142 (talk • contribs) .
Re: ABC
Hi, I noticed the message you left on User talk:24.45.45.39 asking the user to be more careful with spelling, grammar and punctuation. Is there a template for that message or did you create it yourself? Sometimes I feel like I could use that. Regards.--Húsönd 17:40, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, the template is {{subst:SpellCheck}}. I found it on a list of user warning templates at WP:UTM. This is pretty useful, and covers nearly every category. -Patstuart 17:43, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Renaming
If we are to include "any inhabitant of Bohemia or Moravia." as a parameter for this list, the list needs to be renamed "List of people from Bohemia and Moravia" or "List of people from Czech lands." You cannot add to the definition of "Czech" (an ethnic group) man-made geographic boundaries, as they include many other ethnic groups who are not Czechs, like Gregor Mendel. 141.211.251.69 22:24, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- I see your point. However I believe that the article List of Czechs does not focus just on people whose ethnicity is Czech, but anyone who comes from the region composed by Bohemia and Moravia. I can't really see any plausible alternative. You may however try to propose a new name for the article on WP:RM.--Húsönd 00:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Related to your signature
Surpresa em encontrar outro Português por aqui, mas para que outros possam perceber, vou deixar a mensagem em English.
Hello. I've spotted your signature around a welcome to esperanza greeting to a new member. I've noticed it's full of broken HTML. Please, to keep Wp working on every browser, do not use broken HTML, also called tag soup. Wp uses XHTML.
If you need a suggestion, do not use the font tag ever, and neither abuse of div tags. Oh, and always use quots like "". If you still need to use that disgusting Microsoft font in your sigs, please use the following code instead:
<span style="font-face:'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Husond</span>
Hope you understand and won't take offense in me being bold. If you do understand, please help me get other users not to do the same thing and break Wp. Thanks.--Ivo Emanuel Gonçalves/Saoshyant talk / contribs 15:08, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

- Compreendo. Obrigado.
