[edit] History

Licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in November 2000 as "TEN - Channel 1", the channel launched in early July 2003 on Star Choice as "Hustler TV". It was Canada's first 24 hour subscription specialty service devoted to explicit adult content. Since that time several other similar channels have launched including Red Light District TV which is also owned by Ten Broadcasting and several other channels by various other owners. Although before its launch, Playboy TV (USA) was readily available across Canada.
