Hussainabad is a town and a notified area in Palamu district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

As of 2001 India census[1], Hussainabad had a population of 23,433. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Hussainabad has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62%, and female literacy is 45%. In Hussainabad, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. Hussainabad is also known as Japla in the modern days.

In 1740 'Hidayat Ali Khan' was nominated as Jagirdar of Japla in Jharkhand state. (That time it was in Bihar state) The name Hussainabad is after Nawab Ghulam Hussain. They built fortresses and helped in development of Japla, Hussainabad. Freedom fighter and President of Indian National Congress Late Hasan Imam is also buried in Japla.
