Hushang Ansary

Hushang Ansary (in Persian: هوشنگ انصاری) was Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs under Prime Minister Amir Abbas Hoveyda of Iran. He also served as Ambassador to the United States before Ardeshir Zahedi and led the Constructionist wing of the Rastakhiz Party, which opposed the Progressives under Jamshid Amuzegar. He also served as the last President of National Iranian Oil Company. Ansary escaped to the United States in 1979, avoiding the Iranian Revolution. A friend of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, he is a devoted Republican, having served on the National Finance Committee of the Bush-Cheney 2004 Presidential Campaign. Ansary is currently the chairman of the Parman Group, a Houston-based private investment enterprise with holdings in oilfield equipment manufacturing, leisure industries, textiles, international trade, and real estate.

He was involved in the creation of the University of St. Martin in the Netherlands Antilles.
