Hush house

Hush house is a generic term for aircraft jet engine testing facilities designed to reduce the jet engine noise.
There are two types of hush houses in general which are indoor and outdoor types. These types are indoor engine test cells or indoor engine and outdoor engine run up areas.
- Indoor engine test cells are the facilities designed for the testing of the offwing engines.
- Indoor engine run up areas are the facilities to test the engine onwing.
- Outdoor run up areas are the facilities to test the onwing.
