[edit] Merge?
This need a lot more content to stay. — jdorje (talk) 18:43, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- It should be merged. The damage may be moderate, but there's not enough content. Storm05, you should work on finishing articles you've made rather than leaving them mediocre and incomplete. Hurricanehink 20:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I added more infomation, but you can help me by finding more. Storm05 15:22, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- I would, but the person who creates the artile is the one responsible for adding enough information to justify its existence. Yes, the storm did over $100 million in damage, but it caused very few deaths, and the damage seems high localized. I would help, but based on other articles you have made, this will probably be expanded only by adding useless information. Based on the monthly weather review and the TC report, The storm did very little, and I still don't see point of this article. Hurricanehink 16:14, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- The Montly Weather Review and TC reports are incomplete and only talks about the storm at that time because it does not includes the damage inland. And theres more detailed infomation about the storm somewhere on the internet the problem is where and I cant do this alone. Storm05 16:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Also I made this because Jerry was the third hurricane to strike Texas during the 1989 Atlantic season , the most since 1886 and also because the NHC botched the prediction on this storm. Storm05 16:55, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Get rid of it.HurricaneCraze32 15:31, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Retrospectively, I support the article's existence, though more is needed. Hurricanehink 21:20, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

A couple of changes needed here. First off, Allison in 1989 was not a hurricane, it was only a tropical storm - so Texas was only struck by two hurricanes in 1989. Second off, I think it should be noted that with its October 16th landfall, Jerry set the record for the latest date in the season for a hurricane to make landfall on the Texas coast (source: Weather Research Center http://www.wxresearch.org/family/texfact.htm). tom02 23:30, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 3 TC's for 1989 to hit Texas
According to my information at List of Texas hurricanes, 5 hurricanes had effects on Texas: Allison, Cosme, Chantal, Raymond and Jerry. That should make it 5 not 3. Opinion?Mitchazenia(8000+edits) 01:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- The article says third to strike, not just affect. Hurricanehink (talk) 01:11, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

- Should it mentioned that 5 had affects on Texas? (That didn't take long for a reply)Mitchazenia(8000+edits) 01:13, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

- Affecting an area isn't that important. It's more important that three hit the state. Hurricanehink (talk) 01:14, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
