Description

This MODIS true-color image shows an early-season hurricane named Adolph off the western coast of Mexico. Red dots superimposed on the surface reflectance image are fires. This image was captured by the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra satellite at 17:25 UTC on May 27, 2001. The storm's maximum sustained winds were about 85 mph and its minimum pressure was 980 mb.
