Hurricane Pauline (disambiguation)

The name Pauline has been used for four tropical cyclones in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

  • 1961's Tropical Storm Pauline - Minimal Tropical Storm that remained well out at sea in early October 1961.
  • 1968's Hurricane Pauline - Category 1 storm that made landfall on the Baja.
  • 1985's Hurricane Pauline - Category 1 storm that briefly threatened Hawaii but turned away, doing no damage.
  • 1997's Hurricane Pauline - A powerful Category 4 storm that weakened to a strong Category 2 by landfall near Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Hurricane Pauline was responsible for over 200 deaths, most due to flooding from heavy rainfall.

The name Pauline was retired in the spring of 1998, and was replaced with Patricia in the 2003 season.
