Hurricane Adolph
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The name Adolph was used for four tropical cyclones in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
- 1983's Hurricane Adolph - A Category 2 hurricane that passed close to Mazatlán, Mexico.
- 1989's Tropical Storm Adolph - A tropical storm that stayed far from land.
- 1995's Hurricane Adolph - A Category 4 hurricane that neared the Mexican coast but turned away.
- 2001's Hurricane Adolph - The only Category 4 Pacific hurricane on record in May but did not affect land.
The name Adolph was removed after the 2001 season for political reasons, due to the name's association with Adolf Hitler; it was replaced by Alvin in the 2007 season.
