The Hunza-Naga Campaign was fought by troops of the British Raj against rebellious tribesmen in the Hunza and Nagar areas of Gilgit (now part of the Northern Areas of Pakistan).

Towards the end of the 19th century just as imperial troops began consolidating territory in tribal areas - these tribes began to acquire rifles and ammunition [1]. The British suspected Russian involvement "with the Rulers of the petty States on the northern boundary of Kashmir;"[2]
