Hunters Point Avenue is a station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 49th Avenue (Hunters Point Avenue) and 21st Street in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, it is served at all times by the 7 train.
This station has two tracks and two side platforms. It is the easternmost (railroad northernmost) underground station on the Flushing Line; the tunnel portal can be seen at the eastern end of the station. The fare control and station entrance are at the north end of the mezzanine, which allows a crossover between directions. The west exit leads to the intersection of Hunters Point Avenue (49th Avenue) and 21st Street, while the east exit leads to the Long Island Rail Road's Hunterspoint Avenue station. The east exit is open only when the LIRR station is open, usually weekdays.
Tilework includes "HP" tiles, as well as name tablets; the station's architecture is in an Italianate design.
This station should not be confused with Hunts Point Avenue station on the IRT Pelham Line, in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx.
