The song was used in Hungry Jack's advertisements, promoting the "whopper" burger in Australia.
The song was covered by dance act Eye Opener in 2004. It is also available as a bonus track on New Found Glory's 2007 CD From the Screen to Your Stereo Part II.
It was written by John DeNicola and Franke Previte. DeNicola and Previte also co-wrote, with Donald Markowitz, the song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" also from Dirty Dancing.
The popular Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, which is known for naming each episode after an 80s hit song, named an episode after this song.
