Hungary Creek Middle School is a public middle school in Glen Allen, in Richmond, Virginia's West End, serving students from sixth grade to eighth grade. It is located in the Three Chopt District of the Henrico County Public Schools division.[1]
[edit] History
The school opened in September 2004 after controversy over where the district boundaries would be drawn and which students would go there. The school was built because of overcrowding at other middle schools in the area.[2]
[edit] Controversy
In 2006 Hungary Creek got attention in the press when a student took a cookie from a teachers cookie jar and was suspended for a day as well as being removed from the baseball team.[3][4] The story was even picked on syndicated columnist Dave Barry's blog where it was quipped "Well duh, he was a Hungary student".[5]
