Human historian's Talk
This is where you go if you would like to talk to me about changes that I have made, or things you have changed, or to call me an "idiot." Whateves. It's cool.
Anyway, let's hear some chatter.

[edit] User Page Mistake
Hello! Human historian is not the appropriate spot to post information about yourself, because that's the encyclopedic part of the Wikipedia website. User:Human historian, however, is all yours to use more or less as you wish. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. --Nsevs • Talk 07:14, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I caught that actually, just now. I thought that was how you did a user article. Sorry. I think I fixed it, but please let me know if I didn't.

"I understand your support and adoration for the bands you have prematurely declared as winner. However, the results have yet to be provided. Until this happens, please do not edit the page, other than to correct false information. Thank you. Human historian 03:06, 12 February 2007 (UTC)"

[edit] Duran Duran
Oh, I'm always about on one Duran Duran page or another -- they're all on my watchlist (even the ones that haven't been created yet). I do lots of other random things around here too, but since that's the one thing I can claim to be something of an expert on, aside from "copyediting in general", I tend to try to keep new additions neat and tidy and complete and such. I'm glad you enjoy the Timeline, I've put a lot of work into it over the years, so I'm glad folks are finding it useful. (I'm sorry the site's out of date for the moment, but the computer with Dreamweaver and all my Timeline files on it is awaiting resurrection sometime this week.) Thanks for your contributions to the DD pages, and keep up the good work all around the 'pedia. Cheers! — Catherine\talk 19:45, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Hungry Like the Wolf.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Hungry Like the Wolf.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.65.227 13:38, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Robertmarlow.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Robertmarlow.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:46, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] YouTube Celeb
HH, I saw that you were talking on YouTube's discussion page about YouTube Celebs and thought you may have wanted to weigh in on Brooke Brodack's article deletion discussion --Bschott 19:35, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Duran Duran articles
Hey there, Human historian! I've been doing a bit of work on the {{Duran Duran}} singles, standardizing the layout of the articles and blueing the red links. For the moment, I've left behind a lot of empty headings, and I could use some help filling in the information. I'll be working on them too as I can, but could you browse through the articles when you get a chance, check my work, and add anything that seems to be missing? Many of the articles still use the album infobox, which needs to be converted to {{Infobox Single}}, and most of the infoboxes are half-empty too.
No rush on this, but I'd be glad to have a little expert help. Thanks very much! — Catherine\talk 18:05, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Depeche Mode Instruments
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Depeche Mode Instruments, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Depeche Mode Instruments. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- IslaySolomon | talk 22:26, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- Please note that the above advice is not longer relevant, see below. -- IslaySolomon | talk 22:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD Nomination: Depeche Mode Instruments
I've nominated the article Depeche Mode Instruments for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Depeche Mode Instruments satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Depeche Mode Instruments. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Depeche Mode Instruments during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. -- IslaySolomon | talk 22:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks.
Hi, yes, that looks fine. One other thing: when you leave comments on discussion pages, remember to sign them by typing ~~~~ at the end of the message. Thanks – Gurch 19:04, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Planet Earth.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Planet Earth.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:50, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Toasthawaiilogg.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Toasthawaiilogg.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:AndrewFletcherDJ.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:AndrewFletcherDJ.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 15:21, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AndrewFletcherDJ.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AndrewFletcherDJ.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 00:27, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
