[edit] spelling of 'Humphry'

It appears that this page has been incorrectly moved from 'Humphry Repton' to 'Humphrey Repton'. I have proposed that it be moved back. I am absolutely certain that 'Humphry' is the correct spelling; it appears in every reputable book by or about him that I have seen. Unfortunately, there are lots of articles on the web that use the incorrect spelling, so it is easy to see how this came about. JPDW 04:34, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Humphrey ReptonHumphry Repton

  • The spelling of the subject of this article is incorrect and therefore the article needs to be moved back to Humphry Repton. Although Humphrey is now more usually written with an 'e', in this case 'Humphry' is correct. Looks like its been wrong for the last two years. This is a common and understandable error repeated on many web pages, but it needs fixing. JPDW 03:41, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC).

Correct-Checked spelling on tombstone at Aylsham Norfolk and it is indeed 'Humphry'.Northmetpit 09:21, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
