[edit] More than 2 types

How do you classify a system where the mechanistic sections perform half of the tasks and the other half requires at least some human input. Ansell 00:19, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Note on conflict of interest: I agree that the author of the article is apparently the same as the founder of the concept. But is that bad? Would we object if Crick had written the Wikipedia article about DNA or if Camus had contributed to the entry on existentialism? IMHO it is up the other Wikipedians to remove bias and not just delete the article. adoble 17:50, 24 November 2007 (CET)

The conflict of interest is a concern if the article would not otherwise have independent sources to enable the page to conform to the neutrality policy. If it is "undue weight" for the page to exist, then the conflict of interest is a problem. Ansell 09:04, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

This subject adds value to understanding the complexity of human systems. To Bowdlerize it because it doesn't conveniently fit others' agendas is not appropriate. Further, the subject is too new to reply to attackers with a "pat" answer: it poses more questions, so answer them.

By merging this subject with Business Process management, the editors of the section have clearly demonstrated a lack of understanding for the subject. I have read the archived discussion and looked at all the "name calling" it contains. So it seems if we are experts in our chosen fields rather than at spending our lives editing entries on Wiki then we are to be dismissed? this hardly seems an appropriate way to ensure that the entries contained are accurate and valuable. For my part I am happy to do my research elsewhere, but for many this is seen a s definitive source. So now they know that the "experts" at Wiki having learned and understood the subject have decreed it is just a part of BPM, well I am sorry, but reading the other experienced and respected inputs on HIM in the debate suggest that it is very much not part of BPM, it is like saying that BPM is part of workflow, or that Six Sigma should be part of ISO9000 or any other Quality System. I am sorry but with this decision Wiki has lost a lot of credibility with me - Mark McGregor, non-registered yes, because I should not have to be. 30th December 2006 82.36.189.232 17:30, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
