[edit] Merger of Aschen and Volians
Despite the popularity of the Aschen (I loved "2010"), they only appeared in two SG-1 episodes and seem to have only little to no in-universe significance. What's more important from an encyclopedic standpoint is that their article asserts no real-world notability. In such a case, Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) suggests an encyclopedic expansion (likely not possible because of lack of sources), or trimming and merging. So this is what I am hereby suggesting: trim&merge them here and transwiki the rest to wikia:Stargate:Aschen, leaving a link there. I don't have companion guides, and I haven't listened to the audio commentaries for a while (I don't remember any encyclopedic facts there), so if someone is able to show that encyclopedic treatment is possible after all, I'll gladly withdraw this merge proposal, but I'll leave it open for at least two weeks, possibly a month. – sgeureka t•c 16:41, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Merged. The transwiki will happen as soon as their database is no longer locked for maintainance. – sgeureka t•c 21:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Merger of Abydonians (Stargate)
This civilization had some in-universe significance as it was the first civilization that the humans from Earth met. And there was an obvious connection between some Abydonians and Daniel (and hence Earth). But this connection and their history played more on a character level (Klorel, Amonet, Harsesis), not on a civilization level. Ultimately, I am not sure whether this civilization would satisfy WP:Notability (fiction). All I know from memory at the moment is that some of the Abydos scenes in the series were filmed in the Richmond Sanddunes, but that's it. So I propose a merge, with a transwiki if wikia hasn't enough content. – sgeureka t•c 23:31, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Merger of Langarans (Stargate)
The civilization Jonas Quinn belonged to. They had a few episodes (3?) devoted to them, and they were mentioned a couple of times, but there's nothing really to say about them (real-world information) that can't be said in Jonas's article first. A pretty non-notable civilization if it wasn't for Jonas, no real impact on the SG-1 story all-in-all, so I propose them to be merged here. – sgeureka t•c 23:31, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Merger of Tollan (Stargate)
Tricky. Of all the alien human civilizations in SG-1, the Tollan may actually be able to demonstrate some notability by including real-world information such as sales figures, critical and popular reception, development, cultural impact, and merchandise as outlined in WP:Notability (fiction). I don't have the companion guides, and I haven't listened to the audio commentary of "Between Two Fires" recently, so I don't know. GateWorld has an interview with the actor who played Narim,[1] but I would need to read it to know if and how it can be used to support an article for the civilization (or just the character section of Narim). Take this merge proposal with a grain of salt, but if there is no interest in someone expanding this article to demonstrate notability, I guess a merge can be considered after all, with no prejudice against article recreation. – sgeureka t•c 23:31, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
