The Gibbs Humdinga is an amphibious, open-air SUV designed by New Zealand inventor Alan Gibbs. It was created specifically to access remote and hostile terrain. It uses the same amphibious technology as the Gibbs Aquada.
The Humdinga transforms from land to water mode when the driver pushes a button. The wheels retract and the power train switches from driving the wheels to driving the jet propulsion system and the vehicle is in amphibious mode.
On land the Humdinga can accelerate from 0-60 in 9.2 seconds and on water can reach the 'plane' in less than 10 seconds. It has a curb weight of 2000kg, has all wheel independent air suspension and runs on regular unleaded petrol. The vehicle is 5400mm in length, 1850mm in height and 2000mm in width. The Humdinga retails for approximately $186,000 USD
This amphibious truck boat is constantly in four wheel drive, and can travel at 100 miles per hour on land. Once on water the boats jet propulsion system kicks in allowing the vehicle to reach 40 miles per hour. This revolutionary open air vehicle can seat five occupants, along with all of their supplies and baggage. The vehicle is run by a powerful 350 BHP engine; granting the user permission to travel on at least twice the amount of earth's surface compared to former vehicles. It took 8 years and over ten million man hours to develop the technology.
