Humayun Abbas Shams, (b. 1970) Islamic scholar and teacher, was born in Faisalabad. Abbas is known for his Research in Islamic theology, Fiqh and Hadeeth.
He is Currently fellow at The University of Glasgow Glasgow Scotland. He has written more than 100 articles in various journals and newspapers on Islam, Quran, Hadeeth, Seerat and Sufism. He is also the author of more than 40 books
On the Book, “Seerat un Nabi and Social Welfare” by Dr M. Humayun Abbas Shams, he was awarded with National Award by the Prime Minister of Pakistan as best Book written on “Seerah” in 2005.
Abbas has full grip on all the basic Islamic Issues. He espoused many different new islamic concepts. He focused on Islamic education, fiqh, tawheed, Hadeeth Islam and Scientific concepts, the basic rudiments for a sound Islamic Society, following the Hanafi school of thought. Then he worked on the scholars of the time themselves, striving against extremism within them.
Abbas has done research work on [[[Tasawuff]] and Tasawuf.
