Hugo van der Merwe doesn't go to enough trouble to protect his anonymity. He thinks he should read Nineteen Eighty-Four. Generally, he thinks too much.
So far, his contributions to wikipedia have been a couple of little typo or grammar corrections (often done anonymously). That might be a good thing, he all too often forgets to preview his changes, thereby spamming the Recent Changes page.
[edit] Potential/intended areas of contribution:
- Having "sympathies" on both sides of the Atheism/Christian debate, and a somewhat "scholarly" interest in the matter, I should be able to make valuable NPOV contributions to tricky controversial articles.
- Background in Digital Signal Processing, stats and the like, will also try to contribute on some, uh, "low quality" pages, where lack of wikipedia experience won't be a problem.
[edit] TODO...
- Follow up on more of these edits: Special:Contributions/142.176.61.241 - I'm tempted to remove the whole lot of them, but some could be argued to be relevant... (I've removed a couple already)
- Decimation and Downsampling ... confused terms. It seems (according to e.g. http://www.dspguru.com/info/faqs/multrate/decim.htm) that the term "decimation" may imply included low-pass filtering, while the term "downsampling" does not? Maybe this is the case from a hardcore DSP perspective, but for the lay-person doing some sound editing - reducing the sampling rate, they will probably call what they want to do "downsampling", and thereby imply inclusion of the low-pass step...?
- C._S._Lewis -> age of abandoning childhood faith? 15 or 13?
