Does anyone have a reference for this name of the company? The data plates on OH-6 (model 369) helicopters (which were built between 1955, when Hughes Aircraft Company was separated from the Hughes Tool Company, and 1976) say "Hughes Tool Co.: Aircraft Division". I remember reading somewhere, that when Hughes Aircraft was parted out of the Hughes Tool Company, Howard Hughes (Jr.) created the Aircraft Division as part of the Hughes Tool Co. to maintain the helicopter portion, which was later separated out to become Hughes Helicopter Co. to facilitate the awarding of the AAH (AH-64) contract. --Born2flie 17:25, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
