Hugo Cardoso Porfírio born 28th September,1973 in Lisbon,Portugal is a Portuguese football player as a striker.
Porfírio played for Sporting CP, since the youth levels and had his start for the main team, during the season of 1992/1993. After a season as a substitute, he went on a loan to Tirsense 1994/1995 and União de Leiria 1995/1996. He returned to Sporting for the season of 1996/1997. During the season, he joined English club West Ham United on a loan from Sporting. He moved to Racing Santander after one season. In 1998/1999 he joined SL Benfica and went on a loan for Nottingham Forest the same season but only started in three matches.

For the Portugal national football team he had 3 caps, as a União de Leiria player, since his debut, at the 1-0 win over Ireland, in Dublin, the 29th May,1996 to the 1-0 win over Ukraine, in Porto, the 9th November,1996, for the 1998 World Cup qualifyings. He was in the roster for the Euro 1996 finals. He also played at the 1996 Olympic Games football tournament, were Portugal reached the 4 th place, their best result ever in the competition.
