[edit] History
[edit] MX Timeline
Hugo was a hotshot member of the Cry Wolves squadron, led by Albero Esto. He was also a close friend with Albero's only son, Foglia Esto. During a particular mission, the squad was obliterated by an attack from the Devil Gundam. Foglia was killed, and Hugo was seriously injured. The use of cybernetics by Dr. Mitarl Zapad barely saved his life; at the same time, Hugo's new cybernetic body would allow him to become one of two pilots for the new TE Absorber unit. Regardless, due to the nature of his new body, Hugo preferred to do things alone.
He is later paired with Aqua Centrum to pilot a new mobile weapon, based on the Terminus Engine. During a test session, the main machine for the engine, the Medius Locus, was stolen, and Hugo was given the order to give pursuit. The mastermind behind the theft was in fact his former commander, Albero, who aligned with former military scientist, Eldy Middy, and planned to use it to achieve his revenge, no matter what the consequences are. Hugo would be forced to cooperate with Aqua and bring down the Medius Locus, Albero and Eldy.
MX concludes with Hugo becoming a combat instructor, tasked with the position to pass down his knowledge to the next generation.
[edit] Original Generation Timeline
Hugo's origin in the Original Generation universe is the same as his MX incarnation, albeit the Cry Wolves working under the Earth Federation Army. After the Inspectors are defeated inside the White Star, the Cry Wolves are sent inside the satellite, to recover anything unusual. Sure enough, pieces of the destroyed Soulgain were scattered around, and the team hastily retrieves them, as the situation forces them to retreat. Hugo would encounter the Jetzt (in place of the Devil Gundam) later on in the game, and here, the tragedy in the MX storyline unfolds: Foglia dies protecting his father, and Hugo is barely clinging to life after a deadly attack. However, the sudden arrival of a reborn Axel Almer and Einst Alchemie interrupts the attacking Jetzt, allowing Hugo and Albero the chance to escape.
After the ordeal ends, it is revealed that Hugo's body is damaged beyond reason and he would require cybernetic replacements to his body, in order to survive, leaving his storyline open in a future Original Generation title.
