Hugh Robertson (born 9 October 1962, Canterbury) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Conservative Party member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid Kent, and was first elected in 2001.

[edit] Early life

He went to the Kings School, Canterbury. He studied Land Management at the University of Reading from 1982-5, gaining a BSc (Hons). He went to RMA Sandhurst from 1985-6. He was an officer in the Life Guards from 1982-95, rising to the rank of major. From 1995 until 2001, he was a banker with the investment management division of Schroders, then Head of New Business Development for the property division.

He is the Shadow Sports and Olympics Spokesman.

He married Anna Copson on 17 May 2002 at the Church of St. Margaret, Westminster. The wedding had to be re-scheduled at short notice from 5 April due to a royal death of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother.
