Hudson County Community College
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hudson County Community College is an accredited, co-educational, two-year, public, community college located in Hudson County, New Jersey. The school's urban campus is located in the Journal Square district of Jersey City, and is accessible via the PATH rapid-transit railroad system.
In 1974, an act of the New Jersey Legislature made it possible for a county that lacked a community college to establish a community college commission. The purpose of the commission was to enter into contracts with existing educational institutions, to provide services for its students, and to grant certificates and associate degrees. In the Spring of 1981, the institution's official name became Hudson County Community College.
Hudson County Community College has been accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools since 1981, and was last reaccredited in 2002.[1]
