Hubert Bognermayr

Hubert Bognermayr (April 6, 1948March 17, 1999), was an Austrian composer and pioneer of electronic music.

Born in Linz, Bognermayr was one of the founders of the Ars Electronica festival in 1979. He was also founding member of the austrian rock band Eela Craig, and founder of the Blue Chip Academy.

Together with Harald Zuschrader he composed the work Erdenklang - computerakustische Klangsinfonie (Sound of Earth - computer acoustic sound symphony) which was played entirely on the Fairlight CMI.

He has also been working together with Mike Oldfield and Herbert von Karajan.
