The Huayco Tinamou (Rhynchotus maculicollis) is a type of Tinamou found on grassy mountain ridges from 1000 m to 3300 m altitude. This species is native to Bolivia and Argentina with an estimated global extent of occurrence of 114,000 kmĀ². The status of this species is evaluated as Least Concern by BirdLife International. Previously, it was considered a subspecies of the Red-winged Tinamou, but its head and neck are streaked and spotted black, and it has a different song.
