This is a Chinese name; the family name is Huan.

Huan Jie, styled Boxu (伯緒), born in Changsha, was an official during the Three Kingdoms Period.

Huan Jie had a remarkable career, serving successively Sun Jian, Chang Xian, Liu Biao, and Cao Cao.


He formerly served under that of Sun Jian and acted as envoy when the hostage Huang Zu was exchanged for the return of the corpse of Sun Jian. Huan Jie was later invited to serve under Wei by Cao Cao, where he became the best of Xiahou Shang in Cao Cao's court. Huan Jie was a strong ally of Meng Da. Huan Jie was instrumental in helping Cao Pi to become the emperor of Wei, and because of this, he was demonized in the novel Romance of Three Kingdoms as one of the two subjects pressuring Emperor Xian into abdication, along with Hua Xin.
