NUTS:HU

The Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) is a subdivision system for statistical purposes for the whole European Union devised by Eurostat.
At NUTS:1 level, Hungary is subdivided into three parts. NUTS:2 level consists of seven regions of Hungary, while at NUTS:3 level (the lowest) the subdivisions match up with the individual counties of Hungary plus the capital, Budapest. As of Jan. 1st, 2007. the LAU 1 level (formerly known as NUTS:4) consists of 168 sub-regions and the LAU 2 level (a.k.a. NUTS:5) is made up of 3152 localities (towns and villages).
