Hu Ge (Chinese: 胡歌; pinyin: hú gē) was born on 20 September 1982 in Shanghai, China. He is a Chinese film actor and pop singer best known for his portrayal of Li Xiaoyao in Chinese Paladin.

[edit] Early Life

Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Hu Ge is the only child in his family. He studied Acting in the Shanghai Theater Academy and graduated in July 2005. As with other artistes, Hu Ge was already on the screen way before he graduated. He first act was in 2003 in the TV series Dandelion. He became famous after playing the role of Li Xiaoyao in Chinese Paladin in 2004. He was invited to sing two of the recording songs in this soundtrack - June Shower (六月的雨) & Xiao Yao Sigh (逍遥叹) and hence entered the music arena.

On the 29 August 2006 at 10:50 pm, while travelling from Hengdian to Shanghai on the highway, Hu Ge became involved in an accident which he survived while his assistant died. He had to undergo surgery, and the entire healing process took approximately one year. Due to his injury, the filming of The Legend of the Condor Heroes, which he was working on during the time of his accident, was temporarily halted correspondingly.[1]
