The HSV GTS is a high performance luxury sedan, produced by HSV. The fundamental underpinnings are based the on mainstream Holden Commodore models of the same years. The car is powered by GM's 6.0 litre Generation 4 V8 engine, which outputs 307 kilowatts (412 hp) of power and 550 newton metres (406 ft·lbf) of torque. Buyers have the option of choosing either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic; the manual is capable of reaching 0–100 kilometres in 5.05 seconds and automatic is capable of 0–100 kilometres in 4.96 seconds.

Traditionally the HSV GTS has boasted a more powerful motor and drivetrain than other HSV models, however the latest model shares the same motor as all the current HSV's on offer. The major feature of the E-Series GTS over the other models is it's performance-oriented MRC (Magnetic Ride Control) suspension. It uses ferrofluid to adjust the damping rate of the shock absorbers based on road conditions and vehicle dynamics.
HSV claims the braking performance of the GTS is better than some of the world's leading sports cars, including the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS55 and Lamborghini Gallardo. The GTS can come to a full stop from 100 km/h in just 36 metres, only 30 centimeters shy of a Porsche 911.[1]
