[edit] Your edits to the "Borough of Macclesfield" template
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to :Template:Cheshire, Borough of Macclesfield, was not constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. The redlinks are there waiting to be filled. Please do not edit them out. DDStretch (talk) 09:50, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I would think it was constructive. I work creating websites and know that's it back practice to have links to pages which don't exist i.e. red links. However, many users on Wikipedia don't seem to disagree. Hstudent 12:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Recent edit of Huddersfield railway station
You have commented that the digram of the station "is not 100% accurate. However, all the platforms are displayed in the correct places." Could you let me know on my talk page or here what is incorrect or how it could be improved as I drew the diagram and would be happy to make any corrections as required. Regards. Please explain why you consider those edits to be unconstructive. The service information as it is now could be misleading to someone who does not know Huddersfield station or who has not been there for a while. The Manchester Victoria train does not now continue to Wakefield like it used to, instead the train from the Caldervale Line now continues there. While the amount of Transpennine Express trains stopping at Stalybridge and Dewsbury has been reduced in the past couple of years. The information as it is now could also lead to people who don't know the railways thinking that there is only one train per hour to Leeds. The reason for my number of edits is because I'm dyslexic so on occasions I don't notice my own mistakes even though I check through them, but then when I go back to it, I notice a mistake such as Piccadilly should have two c's. [edit] Manchester Airport
I can assure you that Manchester Airport is located in the City of Manchester. See this map for details on the boundries of the city. You seem to think that "Manchester" applies exclusively to Manchester City Centre but Manchester is a metropolitan borough which includes the airport in the south. Also having a car park in Cheshire doesn't really make the Airport in Cheshire. ┌Joshii┐└chat┘ 12:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Heald Green is a town within the borough of Stockport and does not seperate the Airport from Manchester City Centre. Just because the train goes through it doesn't mean the borough of Manchester ends there. Heald Green lies to the right of the City of Manchester and above the airport is Wythenshawe which is part of the City of Manchester too. The airport is in the parish of Ringway which is within the boundries of the City of Manchester and has been since the creation of the City Borough of Manchester in 1974. ┌Joshii┐└chat┘ 12:31, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I never said the airport was in Cheshire, I am saying the airport has expanded in to Cheshire. The Greater Manchester/Cheshire division was set up in 1974 and just included the airport which has expanded since, mainly to the south. The most notable expansion has been for Runway 2 which is in the Styal and Mobberley parishes, which are both certainly in Cheshire. See references for Runway 2 which show the location of Runway 2 is in Cheshire. Hstudent (talk) 13:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Manchester Bronze Age stuff
Thanks for your contribution to the Manchester article. The exact location of this Bronze Age settlement seems to be a mystery, beyond 'on the banks of the Bollin'. Do you have any refs that summarise its position vis-a-vis the City of Manchester? It would be good if you could summarise and reply at talk:Manchester. Apologies for the shortness of this note, I'm a bit short of time ATM. Regards, Mr Stephen (talk) 11:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
