HS-8 will formally disestablish at 1000 on September 28, 2007 and be reestablished as HSC-8 at that time. The units emblem will be altered slightly retaining the maced Eightball but superimposed over a gold trident forgoing the original submarine. The colors of the new enblem will be a green background and black border. This characterizes that the squadron is moving away from a predominantly Antisubmarine Warfare roll and into a true multi-mission roll/capability. The SH-60F and HH-60H will both be replaced by the MH-60S, a process that is already nearing completion, as the squadron has already accepted at least one MH-60S.

Best.
