Hrvoje Petrić

Hrvoje Petrić (born December 12, 1972 in Koprivnica) is a Croatian historian. His main interests include early modern history of Southeastern Europe and Central Europe, environmental history, economic history etc.
He initiated a refereed scientific magazine for multidisciplinary research “Podravina / Drava River Valley”. He is currently its editor. Eight volumes were already issued. In 2005, he initiated a refereed scientific magazine for multidisciplinary research. In 2002, Hrvoje Petrić was one of the instigators of the Centre for Socio-economic History at the Institute of Croatian History (University of Zagreb, Croatia) and is currently working as its coordinator. From the same year he is the secretary of the Socio-economic section of the Croatian National Committee for historic studies. He is a chairman of Croatian Society for economic history and environmental history, a member of the board of Croatian Historical Society and a vice-chairman Koprivnica’s Historical Society. In 2005, he initiated a refereed scientific magazine for environmental history and economic history “Economic- and Eco-history/ Ekonomska- i eko-historija”.
Within the Institute of Croatian History, Hrvoje Petrić is affiliated to the International Scientific Research Project Triplex Confinium – led by Doc. Dr. sc. Natasa Stefanec. In the Triplex Confinium project he is an academic coordinator of the one of its subprojects, titled Drava River Multiple Borderlands in the Early Modern Period. The subproject is researching the area that is today the border area of Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Italy and Serbia and Monte Negro. It especially focuses to the comparative eco-history of the mentioned region.
He wrote several books individually and as a co-author: County and parish Drnje, (historical-geographic monograph). (2000) Koprivnica on the turn of epochs (1765-1870). (2000.), Novi Zrin (Uj-Zrinyi-var) – fortress of family Zrinski (Zrinyi) on Mura river, 1661-1664), with Dragutin Feletar and Petar Feletar, (2001), Koprivnica in the 17th century.
From academic year 2001/2002 Hrvoje Petrić was developing and teaching a course in environmental history and socio-economic history of regions along rivers Mura, Drava and Danube and in the Early Modern Period. In the current academic year, with Prof. Dr. sc. Drago Roksandic, he was co-teaching a course “European Rivers in the Early Modern Period.” Each year, a reader was produced for the course purposes.
