Hrod
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hrod is a giantess of Norse mythology and the wife of Hymir, a giant friendly to the Æsir. Her name means "glory" or possibly "fame", possibly making her equivalent in classical mythology Pheme or Fama. Hrod is probably the mother of Tyr, which she had with Hymir, or less likely Odin. The Poetic Edda suggest Hymir as the father, but the later Prose Edda suggest Odin as the father.
