Hrayr Tjokhk

Hrayr Tjokhk (Armenak Kazarian, 1866—1904) — the figure of the Armenian national-liberation movement. Was born in village Agaronk in Sasun, Ottoman empire). The son of the priest. Went to school a monastery over Sacred Karapet in Mush. Per 1890 has adjoined Social Democrat Hunchakian Party becomes its active worker. Then accepts pseudonym Hrayr Tjokhk. In the spring 1894 has directed to Caucasus with the purpose of purchase of the weapon, therefrom to Romania where has adjoined to Armenian Revolutionary Federation. Per 1895 has returned to the Western Armenia with group of 50 young men among which were Andranik Ozanian and Serob Aghpyur (Serob Paşa). Together with Tatul (Aram Aramian) organized defense against slaughter in the area of Basen. In June, 1896 both have been arrested and placed in prison of Erzurum; Tatul has been hung up, Hrayr it is released on amnesty. Goes in Van where makes the plan of the organization of revolt, then in Sasun (1902) where alongside with Andranik there is the main organizer and head Second Sasun Resistance 1904. During this defense, it is killed on April 13 in fight in village Gelieguzan. Has been buried in a court of local church near to Serob Paşa.
On the view, was the opponent of the insignificant isolated skirmishes, defending idea of accumulation of forces for wide national revolt.
