Hoy is the second largest Spanish language daily newspaper in the United States, the largest being El Diario La Prensa. Hoy is based in Chicago, Illinois and also distributes separate issues for Los Angeles, California and New York City, New York. Hoy Chicago and Hoy Los Angeles are, and have always been, owned by Tribune Company.
On February 12, 2007, Tribune announced the sale of Hoy New York to ImpreMedia LLC, the parent company of El Diario La Prensa, for an undisclosed sum. Hoy Chicago and Hoy Los Angeles are not affected by the transaction.
