Howard Schwartz was a Canadian broadcaster between 1976 and 1995.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Schwartz began his career at Montreal radio station CJFM-FM in 1976 as a disc jockey and newsreader.
He moved to Calgary in 1977 to work at CJAY-FM, at the time, the city's first progressive country rock radio station.
Howard then returned to Montreal in 1978 for another stint as a DJ at CJFM before making a career change to become a newscaster at CFCF-AM. While there he filed reports for CBS Radio and ABC's Good Morning America's newscasts.
In 1980 Howard moved over to television, working as a reporter and anchorman at CKVR-TV in Barrie, Ontario, where he eventually took over the principal anchor chair full time.
In 1982, he was hired at his hometown TV station in Montreal, CFCF-TV as a reporter and anchor. He took over the medical beat in 1990, producing two medical segments a week, while filling in as anchor Friday nights, on weekends and holidays.
Howard also appears in a number of motion pictures including Oh Heavenly Dog, Sunset Court and Criminal Law, among others. His work is listed under "Howard Schwartz 2" in the IMDB.
He also became a fixture on the PBS program "This week in Canada."
Howard left broadcasting in 1995 to open a media consulting and video production firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and medical academic fields. He moved to the US in 2001 where he works as a media relations specialist in New York.
